HELIOS Script Server scripts

HELIOS ImageServer includes a Script Server service that implements a file event-driven hot folder mechanism for immediate and automatic batch processing and workflow automation. Configuration and administration is easily done from PC, Mac, and Web environments via HELIOS Admin.

Script Server comes with several sample scripts, which are listed below.

pdfCorrect CLI callas software's pdfCorrect is a new CLI tool, which corrects PDF files with regard to particular characteristics and printing methods. About 100 different PDF parameters can be corrected either specifically, or combined via the supplied ready-to-use output correction profiles.

pdfColorConvert CLI The callas software pdfColorConvert CLI tool converts all RGB data and spot colors within a PDF document to CMYK, and so provides the basis for color matched printing. Even CMYK to CMYK transformations are easily feasible with this tool.

K-Collect K-Collect allows collecting all referenced image files in a QuarkXPress or InDesign document via a hot folder mechanism. In doing so, K-Collect evaluates the XPV files that are generated automatically by means of the HELIOS Preview XT (InDesign & QuarkXPress). A configurable HTML report about each single document page, an image list, path links and a summary of the used fonts and colors top this product off.

imageConvert imageConvert is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to convert large amounts of image files into other formats or color spaces. Conversions are performed according to special folder names, e.g. "RGB-TIFF-144" will generate TIFF files, in RGB, with a resolution of 144 dpi.

PDFopiresolve PDFopiresolve uses the feature of PDF-native OPI from HELIOS PDF HandShake UB and offers a very comfortable way of use.
PDF resolving is done in a HELIOS Script Server hot folder.
The original and resolved PDF files are placed in adequate subfolders. In case of an error the files are placed with an error report to a specific error folder.
Existing file name prefixes and suffixes can be exchanged or added to mark the resolved file.

FlowView Pro FlowView Pro is a tool to configure, visualize, and monitor HELIOS publishing server workflows.

The FlowView Pro distribution contains 6 scripts for image conversion and to create disk images:

callas software CLI Package The callas software CLI Package, which contains 6 scripts, enables the tools pdfCorrect_CLI and pdfColorConvert_CLI from callas software to be used with HELIOS ScriptServer. Both tools provide over 100 options for PDF optimization and color conversion. For each tool you get three scripts with difference in complexity – from simple to complete.
Together with FlowView Pro configuration of these scripts is very easy.

PDFpreflight PDFpreflight can be employed via a Script Server hot folder mechanism or as a printer script. It is triggered by the exit status of the PDF check (Successful, Error, Warning, Info), and files are forwarded to subfolders corresponding to their exit status.
PDFpreflight is configurable via HELIOS Admin or Macademy's FlowView Pro, or a configuration file. It supports different pdfInspektor3 report types, and also PDF/X correction. Alternatively, configuration is done in a file. Additional options are available to allow the incorporation of the PDF check into the workflow.
