HELIOS 4th generation

HELIOS Base UB+ for Windows provides a state-of-the-art print server for Windows, and a foundation for all other HELIOS products. It is well known for its reliability, performance, and ease-of-use, and incorporates the advanced server technologies developed by HELIOS over many years. These core HELIOS technologies include the service controller, printing system, remote administration, networking and imaging libraries, tools and more.

HELIOS Advanced Printing System
Provides a superior printing system to manage the printing needs of any size operation. The HELIOS printing system includes key features like custom spool directories, moving of jobs between queues, reprinting and archiving of jobs, full error feedback and control, etc. It is “lpr/lpd” compatible, supports PostScript, PDF and other jobs. Its features are available to all network clients. Windows queues are integrated via a gateway to HELIOS queues. Mac clients benefit from faster printing via the HELIOS exclusive TCP Bonjour printer driver.
Detailed print job accounting information is easily reviewed or exported.
The advanced printing system is tightly integrated with ImageServer, PDF HandShake, and PrintPreview to serve the widest range of prepress needs

HELIOS mDNS Server ("Bonjour") enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers.

Remote Administration using HELIOS Admin from Windows, Mac and UNIX clients allows managing server settings, printer queues, and logs, and creating printing workflows by cascading different queues/options. It is extremely easy to use and includes several security groups to control administration of server settings, print queues, and print jobs.

Scalability is built-in, from small sites with only a few clients to enterprise sites with the most demanding requirements; it always remains easy to administer.

HELIOS supports a variety of server platforms with equal feature sets, identical administration, and the same release dates. This gives customers the flexibility to choose the right server for their needs, budgets, and future plans.
