Why is the iPhone good for proofing?

Agencies work with applications like Adobe Photoshop for color editing, and QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign for page layout, to produce final proof and print PDFs.

Using WebShare UB+ each step can be observed and monitored anytime or anywhere, using a web browser. The agencies' volumes containing customer data such as images, XPress or InDesign documents, and PDFs can be accessed via WebShare UB+ using an iPhone or any other Mac or Windows web browser. HELIOS WebShare UB+ enables fast and secure real time remote file access via any web browser. Authorized users can easily use your file server wherever they are, without exposing the server to the Internet. Working with files remotely has never been easier.

High Security is provided by a two-tier server application. The WebShare WebObjects server handles the web user interface on a separate server to ensure that the main file server is not available on the Internet. The server file system security is enforced according to the user credentials.

The WebShare UB+ toolbar menus "File" and "Edit" have submenus that allow performing all tasks from file management to proofing. In addition, executable tasks are available from the "Actions" menu.

File proofing

QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign (Mac and Windows versions)

The following image shows page 16 of a multi-page document which is being proofed. The preview toolbar allows browsing through the pages of the document, and selecting the resolution.

Appropriate permissions provided, previews in WebShare can be renamed, deleted, rearranged and transformed via the "File", "Set View", "Rotate" and "Flip" menus. If a selection of images is marked for previewing, they can be browsed either sequentially by use of the arrow buttons or picked from the pop-up menu. The resolution is set either with the magnifying glass icons or picked from the pop-up menu.
