A warm hello from HELIOS at the drupa fair. As I write this note, I am delighted to report that the HELIOS "Future of DTP" introduction has received an overwhelmingly positive reception. It was even featured in a two page article in the drupa report daily!
Every demo station was crowded throughout the day today, as current customers and prospects wanted to see the HELIOS "Drag & Drop" support for remote page layout production. HELIOS WebShare is extending the reach of the network to staff, partners, and customers, wherever they are. If you have not already visited us at drupa, there is still time, so schedule an appointment (+49-211-9475-150), or just stop by.

1. World of HELIOS: Future of DTP
Imagine, using a Web browser to browse a file/image gallery, to drag and drop images into InDesign, XPress or a local project folder, with dragged images appearing immediately, and automatic synchronization between the remote server and the client. Imagine having fun working quickly with remote files on a Mac or PC, getting the work done faster from anywhere.

The atmosphere at drupa is very upbeat, with the attendees quite eager to find the new technologies and products that will give them a competitive advantage. Here are some that impressed us:

4. HELIOS drupa seminars

4.1. HELIOS drupa seminar: HD Color
The "HD Color" seminar will present future color quality improvements utilizing the latest ICC 4 color technologies in a full 16-bit per channel color workflow for image re-purposing, printing and proofing. Learn how ICC DeviceLink profiles will preserve separations when switching between different printing processes.
The seminar will be held at the HELIOS booth on the following dates:
4.2. HELIOS drupa seminar: Customer retention using WebShare
This seminar will present how to collaborate with remote customers, contractors and employees worldwide. It will also discuss implementing Web-based remote file distribution, and image and document proofing processes. Learn how a new Web-based DTP "Drag & Drop" workflow with synchronization will increase productivity.
The seminar will be held at the HELIOS booth on the following dates:
4.3 HELIOS drupa seminar: PDF production
Learn about server automated solutions for PDF creation, PDF preflight, PDF flattening, PDF printing, and PDF proofing. In addition you will learn how to convert bitmap images into PDF for archiving. New capabilities and speed are offered by using a PDF-native OPI workflow with InDesign.
